Alexis Cameron

Alexis Cameron is an Aotearoa NZ registered physiotherapist and organisational development practitioner, Alexis brings extensive experience in Māori and Pacific workforce and leadership development, strategic and operational leadership, and increasing organisational capability to dismantle institutional racism, eliminate healthcare inequities and build culturally safe practice. Te piko o te māhuri, tērā te tupu o te rākau - The way in which the young sapling is nurtured (bent), determines how the tree will grow - opportunities to improve systems and processes from a people and culture, and health care perspective that effectively upholds Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and fosters diversity, equity and inclusion is a passion area for Alexis, particularly in the pursuit of achieving equity in health and education for Māori and Pacific communities. A 2022 HRNZ Mana Tangata award winner, Alexis currently serves as the model of care lead for the integrated cancer services programme transforming non-surgical cancer care across Northland and Auckland, a physiotherapy academic lecturer, honorary research fellow (oncology), and as a governance and regulatory authority board member. Of utmost importance, Alexis is mum to three sons Elijah, Ephrem and Emmett.
